When can I apply for citizenship?

Generally 5 years after getting your green card (3 years if you got it through marriage to a U.S. citizen and are still married). You also need physical presence and good moral character.

Do I have to take a test?

Yes — an English test (reading, writing, speaking) and a civics test (10 of 100 possible questions, you need 6 correct). We help you prepare.

What if I have a criminal record?

Don’t apply without a lawyer reviewing your record. Some convictions block citizenship; some can trigger removal. Bring everything to your consult.

How long does N-400 take?

Typically 6–12 months from filing to oath ceremony in the NYC area, sometimes faster.

What about extended trips abroad?

Trips of 6+ months can break continuous residence. Trips of 1+ year almost always do. We’ll check your travel history before filing.
