A shorter note this week. No deadline, no rule change, nothing you need to act on by a certain date.
Many of the people reading this have worked with our Brooklyn office. What you may not know is that we also have an office in Miami, on Brickell Avenue, serving families across South Florida — and we would like your help reaching the people there who need us.
What we handle in Florida
Our Florida practice is federal immigration law. That includes:
- Family-based green cards, including marriage cases
- Citizenship and naturalization
- Special Immigrant Juvenile Status petitions and green cards for young people under 21
- Detention cases and defense in Miami immigration court
We work in English and Spanish. Hablamos Español.
Why we are asking
Most of the families we represent did not find us through an advertisement. They found us because a cousin, a coworker, a neighbor, or someone at their church said: call these people, they helped us.
That matters more than usual right now. People are afraid, and fear makes them hesitant to call a stranger. A phone number that comes from someone they already trust is a different thing entirely than one they found online.
If you know someone in Florida who has been putting off a decision about their immigration case, the most useful thing you can give them is our number and permission to use your name.
What a referral actually involves
Nothing complicated. Send them this page, or just the phone number.
The first conversation is free and confidential. It does not obligate anyone to hire us, and it does not create a record with any government agency. If we are not the right fit, or if the honest answer is that they should wait, we will tell them that.
You do not need to explain their situation to us, and you do not need to know whether they qualify for anything. That is our job.
Follow the Miami office
We have also started posting regularly from the Miami office on Instagram, in English and Spanish — short updates on policy changes, know-your-rights information, and answers to the questions we get asked most often.
If you have family or friends in Florida, following and sharing those posts reaches people who would never open an email from a law firm.
Thank you for trusting us with your case, and for every person you have already sent our way. It is how this firm has grown.
